We are pleased to
host a series of readings by poets from the Workshop for Published
Poets. Reading on October 19 are the following poets:
Robin Pelzman’s poems have appeared in numerous
magazines, journals and anthologies, including Moment, Poiesis, Salamander, The Comstock Review, The Coinflip Shuffle,
and Ballard Street Poetry
Journal. She has work forthcoming in Barrow Street, The Aurorean, CHEST, and Poetry East. Her manuscript, The
Frozen Embryo Takes Questions, is in search of a publisher and her second
collection, tentatively titled The Maps We Chose, is in progress. She
lives in Brookline,
Massachusetts, with her husband and
son.
Matthew Sisson’s
work has appeared in The Larcom
Review, Poetry East,
The English Journal, Sahara, Rhino, the anthology Mercy Of Tides and many other literary
magazines. He was nominated for a Pushcart
Prize in 2008 and is the former poetry editor of the trade journal Modern SteelConstruction.
Suellen
Wedmore, Poet Laureate emerita
for the small seaside town of Rockport, Massachusetts, has been
widely published. She has been awarded first place in the Writer’s Digest rhyming poem contest, her
chapbook Deployed was selected as winner of the Grayson Press annual
contest, and she was awarded a writing residency at Devil’s Tower, Wyoming. Her
chapbook, On Marriage and Other Parallel Universes, was recently released
by Finishing Line Press. After 24 years working as a speech and language
therapist, Suellen retired to pursue an MFA in Poetry at New England College,
graduating in 2004.
