Like to knit, quilt, felt, bead, crochet, or practice some other handicraft. Join us in our free heat for Knit One, Read Too. On the second Sunday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. we host an in-store handwork session for knitters, quilters, crocheters, and other handwork enthusiasts.

Join Porter Square Books, Henry Bear’s Park, and Clare Walker Leslie for a Nature Treasure Hunt and book signing. Meet at Henry Bear’s Park at 2pm where kids will get a nature booklet with stickers of Clare’s illustrations. Clare will then lead the kids on a Nature Treasure Hunt, looking for herring gulls, rosa rugosas, ground beetles, and more. Then it’s back to Porter Square Books where Clare will sign copies of her new book, The Nature Connection: An Outdoor Workbook for Kids, Families, and Classrooms. Clare Walker Leslie is a nationally known naturalist, artist, and educator. She teaches workshops and classes on nature observation and journal-keeping for colleges, education centers, and schools nationwide.
