Stephen Burt is a literary critic who teaches at Harvard University.  Burt's most recent book, Close Calls with Nonsense, was a 2009 National Book Critics Circle finalist.  Burt writes books about poetry, essays on other people's poems, books of his own poems, and shorter pieces about poems, poets, poetry, comics, science-fiction writers, political controversies, obscure pop groups, and the WNBA.
