It's October. It's approaching Halloween. It is, in other words, the perfect time to read all of the horror books on your To-Be-Read and to watch all of the horror movies on your watch list.

Event Update: It is a rainy, blustery day in the Seaport district, so we've decided to reschedule this open mic to a day with more friendly weather. Keep an eye out for the next open mic night, and we hope to see you there!

Porter Square Books: Boston Edition hosts another Open Mic Night! Join us on Wednesday, October 5 at 6pm for a night of poetry, stand up comedy, storytelling, and performance.

In honor of Porter Square Books: Boston Edition's one year anniversary, we'll be having an all-day sale! Visit us on Saturday, October 1 between 10am-8pm to shop one-day-only discounts on your favorite titles. 

If you're really in the mood to celebrate with us, join us at 6pm for our birthday party celebration, featuring snacks, drinks, and author visits!

It's officially been a year since the grand opening of Porter Square Books: Boston Edition! It's been an absolutely fantastic year- we've hosted incredible authors such as Steve Almond, Kate Baer, and Jonathan Escoffery, enjoyed each other's company during monthly silent reading book club, opened the stage to your music, poetry, and comedy, and through it all, maintained the most beautiful chalkboard art you've ever seen of some iconic book covers. 

Porter Square Books: Boston Edition is delighted to welcome prolific fantasy author Terry Brooks for Daughter of Darkness, the follow-up to Child of Light! NY Times Bestselling author R. A. Salvatore will join the author in conversation, and a signing line will follow the talk. 

Porter Square Books: Boston Edition and Mass Poetry are delighted to present an evening of poetry on Monday, September 26 at 7pm!

The return of the Silent Reading Party! You can either BYOB (bring your own book) or buy a book here! We’ll be sitting and reading quietly for an hour, followed by some discussion about what we read. Or not, if you don’t feel like talking!

Snacks, refreshments, and excellent book recommendations will be provided.

Porter Square Books: Boston Edition is excited to welcome author Cat Fitzpatrick for the release of her first novel, The Call-Out! The Call-Out is "a fast-paced, debut tragicomedy of manners written in verse about queer (mostly trans) women that is funny, literary, philosophical, witty, sometimes bitchy and sometimes heartbreaking," written by the first trans woman to serve as Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies program at Rutgers University–Newark.
