This is the type of story that had I read as a child, I would still remember vividly. A chilling ghost story yes, but more chilling is the racial violence laid bare. A truly powerful book with such depth for the age range. Engaging and unafraid to present subjects that need to be discussed. We need more books like this! -Stacey
