This romance novel is one of the queerest I've read, and considering my tastes, that's saying something. The romance is between a cis bisexual man and a genderqueer person. "Normal" relationships haven't historically worked for either of them, but they really like each other. The solution? They might have to actually communicate about their wants, needs, and past traumas.

In passages of pure poetry he once again shows us we need look no further than our own backyard to rekindle that relationship with the natural world.

Dawnie Walton’s debut novel is both timely and nostalgic, packed equally with wit and tension. Told in the form of snippets of interviews with main and side characters alike, Walton deftly uses skills gleaned from a career as a music journalist and LIFE magazine archivist to lift this story right off the page - by the end you’ll be shocked you can’t look up Opal’s old records.

Both smart and clever, this rich and entertaining mystery is an unjustly overlooked classic. Set in Harlem in the 1920s, and inspired by Golden Age of Mystery authors like Dorothy Sayers & Agatha Christie, The Conjure-Man Dies plays with mistaken identity, the person you least expect, locked rooms, and other tropes of the mystery genre.  A real tragedy we only got one Perry Dart & John Archer novel.

This story follows two relatable and lovable queer best friends as they navigate through their cursed small town. Shudder-To-Think, Pennsylvania is crawling with skinless men, sinkhole women, deer woman hybrids, and much more that are lurking in the shadows. This is one of the most immersing and addicting horror worlds I’ve ever encountered, I didn’t want it to end.
