Such a stunningly raw and lyrical piece of Japanese literature!! This book will leave you absolutely heartbroken alongside the characters, while still reeling in the uplifting beauty of a story of two teenagers who find friendship in the midst of social isolation. (The bullying scenes can be a bit difficult to read, but it’s well worth it.)

One day at an airport, a plane appears out of thin air...and its only passengers are 36 babies. When they become teenagers, they start receiving mysterious letters that tell them they're "one of the missing," and so begins Chip and Jonah's mission to uncover the secrets of their past. The perfect page turner for any young reader!

I honestly didn't think I'd be interested in this book based on the description (the focus on meat didn't sound particularly appealing), but I read it in two days. A captivating story about media, meat, sex, fertility and love with beautiful prose and strong female characters.

A sweet little book filled with love and Boston!

A man stops at a red light. By the time it turns green, he's blind, & before long (almost) the entire population is infected by this unexplained contagion. One of the most dismal portraits of humanity I've ever read, yet still oddly uplifting. Absolute masterpiece!

I’ve genuinely never read anything like this book. Written in a stream of consciousness, Autoportrait contains autobiographical facts about the life of French artist Édouard Levé. At first the sentences seem entirely random, but by the end you’re left with a beautifully detailed portrait of Levé in your mind. Such a unique short little read!!
