In this graphic novel, three seemingly unrelated storylines interweave in surprising ways. Not only are the pictures beautiful, there's so many unspoken nuances within each character interaction. I loved this story about an American-Chinese boy, Danny, and how he straddles his Chinese and American culture. Things only seem to get worse when his cousin from China visits. But, his cousin just might be the key for Danny to learn about himself, his family, and his culture. You won't regret reading it!

Pascaline doesn't want to go to school, but go to school she does, with her tiny parents tucked under her wing. And school, it turns out, is pretty great. But it'd be better if she didn't have to take care of her tiny parents! With brilliant, energetic illustrations, Alemagna captures the full range of Pascaline's emotions in this utterly delightful picture book.

Magical adventure and romance! If the deaf witch and genderqueer werewolf in love aren't enough, come here for the cute gay grandmas and the Sukkot/Mid-Autumn Festival fusion celebration. Not to mention the gorgeous, expressive art and amazing storytelling. I wish I’d had this comic when I was a kid.

I have been a big fan of these tiny vampires since they were just three panel comics floating around the internet, so it came as no surprise that I loved this book. It's both a funny and charming story about witches and curses and magical quests, as well as a tale about friendship and standing up for yourself. 10/10 I'd definitely let these precocious vampires drink some blood (although maybe not mine).

Gossip Girl meets Pretty Little Liars meets Get Out in this YA thriller about two Black students at an elite prep school being targeted by an anonymous bully. The novel ratchets up the tension as Devon and Chiamaka realize more than their college hopes may be at risk. Smart social commentary, high suspense, and twists you won't expect—this is a must read.

So many histories of women can only be found in the cracks, pieced together through what is omitted rather than saved. In her debut graphic novel, with striking pen and ink illustration by Hugo Martinez, Rebecca Hall recounts the struggle to uncover narratives about women’s roles in slave revolts for her PhD. But where she is met with lack and institutional gatekeeping, she fills in the stories of these women herself. A necessary and heart-wrenching read.
