Marco has many questions. When an Antlered ship arrives in the harbor, Marco wonders if a journey would bring him the answers he yearns for. Beautifully, wistfully illustrated, with plenty of adventure, this book is sure to satisfy. Even the slipcover feels weather-worn and salty!

Seveneves is so much more than science fiction set in space. It feels preparatory, as Stephenson tends to spend a lot time on the technicalities of orbital mechanics, but Stephenson also makes it clear what would really matter in such a catastrophic situation. Political and philosophical existentialism with a great narrative. It is compellingly readable (in the way you would think a story about the moon blowing up and humanity ending would be).
Ethel is an old, fat, cat with absolutely no time for being anything other than herself. Until one day she turns blue. If you've ever had an old fat cat, or any cat to be honest, you will love this whimsically illustrated picture book.

Wonder takes place in Northern Ireland, and speaks, to me, of spring. The fresh calm that comes with new buds and beautiful twilit evenings, but also the pain and heartbreak and scars of einer. Read it over a plate of spring risotto.

Think Ridley Scott's Prometheus meets The Day The Earth Stood Still. Okay, so those are movies, but that's how incredibly real and scarily tangible this book is (and it will be adapted to film). I fell in head first, so will you, and if you pick it up today and finish it tonight, don't worry, the second installment is out in April!

Written by a screenwriter, this book is the best (not) movie you've ever read. A mysterious and thrilling (and I mean THRILLING) ride, Pilgrim will keep you guessing, re-reading, and gasping in shock. This book will keep your heart rate up enough to warm away November.
