Tiny T-Rex and the Impossible Hug

Who has teeny, tiny arms, a huge heart, and not a lot of sense? Tiny the T-Rex! Just try not to fall in love with him. Good luck with a hug though.

Bttm Fdrs feels a bit like the movie "Get Out" crossed with Lovecraft and with a Lisa Frank style color palette. Or at least it feels like the concept of the movie. Horror comics are great for those of us who enjoy the genre but are too wimpy to sit through an entire movie. Also, Ben Passmore's unapologetic writing is great.

A beautiful reminder that kids know love when they feel it, and that love can endure against hateful ideology. This is such a wonderful story with a steadfast, inspirational main character. Love is love.

A delightful, literary buffet of zombies, werewolves, and other magical beasties. Most - if not all - of the consequential characters identify as at least one of the following (and potentially more): queer, trans, nonbinary. And to top it off, the ending is lovely. Though the conclusion is left open-ended enough to continue the story, it is warmly satisfying on its own and doesn't beg for a sequel.

A stunning, intimate examination of lives led by black women during the early 20th century who dared to strive for more than white society allowed them to be. Between the stark history, beauty of the prose, and determination of the subjects, this book left me speechless.
