Craft On Draft: Revision Dilemmas

Hemingway rewrote the end of A Farewell to Arms 39 times before he was satisfied.  When asked what stumped him, Papa replied, “Getting the words right.” Revision may be the heart of writing but how do we know when we’ve done enough? Come hear how amazing authors Rachel Barenbaum (Atomic Anna), Katherine A. Sherbrooke (Leaving Coy’s Hill), and Dariel Suarez (The Playwright’s House) mastered their revision dilemmas.

Porter Square Books is pleased to partner with the Craft on Draft reading series and GrubStreet for this event, which will support both virtual and in person attendance.

Register here to attend in person, or join us on Crowdcast here for virtual viewing!

Craft on Draft is a reading series created and managed by alumni of GrubStreet's Novel Incubator program and devoted to great fiction—and the mechanics behind it. Three authors read and discuss their work, plus that of one lucky audience member.

This event will take place in-person at GrubStreet Center for Creative Writing in Boston's Seaport neighborhood. Please note that proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is required to attend this event. Please submit your proof of vaccination here at least 48 hours before your event begins. Find more information about GrubStreet's vaccine protocol and find information about where to get vaccinated here.
