Join us for the second national celebration of independent bookstores, authors, and reading!
Among the fun things we have planned for the day:
Exclusive IBD items, including an Ann Patchett essay collection, a bookstore cat zipper pouch, a Neil Gaiman coloring book, and a vinyl LP from the authors of Rad American Women A-Z (limited quantities of all of them!)
Trivia (for adults) and a scavenger hunt (for kids)
Booksellers dressed up as some of their favorite (dead) authors
Temporary tattoos from Litographs
Discounts at local businesses including Tags, Liquor World, Cambridge Naturals, Christopher's, Henry Bear's Park, and Mind's Eye Yarn
Local (live) authors including Julia Denos and Max Gladstone in conversation with (bookseller) dead authors
We'll also have stacks of ARCs (early copies of upcoming books that publishers send out to bookstores and reviewers so we can tell you that a new book is so amazing but you can't read it for another two months) available in exchange for donations to the Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center, which works with families in transitional housing.
