Online Ordering for the Holidays 2019

The holidays are upon us and the rush to get the perfect book for everyone on your list is on. If you are ordering something for the holidays please let us know in the comments so we can prioritize your order. Here is more information about inventory statuses and online shopping for the holidays.

It's Complicated: This status means the book is neither on our shelves nor at our primary distributor. This means will have to check on the availablity of the book with other sources. Sometimes these books are still available and sometimes they are not. We can even get some of these titles in 1-3 business days as with the "Available to Order" status. Books ordered from a publisher can take 1-3 weeks to arrive at the store so orders that have to be fulfilled by the publisher are already cutting it close. Feel free to call us at 617-491-2220 for more information about a specific book. To give your purchase the best chance of arriving in time for the holidays, make sure to place your order for any title with an "It's Complicated" status by December 12.

Available at Warehouse: This status means the book is at our distributor and that we can get the book to the store and/or shipped to you in 1-5 business days. The "business" is the key part of "business days," so orders placed on a Friday might take an extra couple of days because we can't place on the weekend. Though we close early on Christmas Eve we'll still be recieving books. So, to give your purchase the best chance of arriving in time for the holidays, make sure your to place your order for any title wiath an "Available at Warehouse" status by December 18.

On Our Shelves Now: We update our online inventory once a day, but there is a lot of turnover this time of year. If it's becore the 18th, go ahead and place the order online as we should still have it in plenty of tiem. If it's after the 18th, please call the store at 617-491-2220 with the title information and we'll check our shelves for you. You can put the book on hold and pay for it over the phone.

With all of our orders, we're happy to gift wrap them and add a message. Just let us know in the comments.  

All the other inventory statuses are either for preorders (which we'll gladly take!) or books that have even less availability. Feel free to call us with any questions. If the book needs to be shipped, just roll the deadline back three days.
