Like the music he writes about, Hanif Abdurraqib's essay collection is by turns novel and nostalgic, euphoric and poignant, contemplative and raw. A moving examination of the way pop culture ties into the current state of our nation--and how it affects us on a personal level.

This is not a book about boxing, although if you are not a boxing enthusiast you will certainly learn a lot about the sport. It is much more a book about one of the most outsized personalities of the 60s,about race relations and politics and Vietnam, and about how Cassius Clay went from being a poor kid in Louisville to "The Champ" and "The Greatest". A very compelling read, and worth all the pages.

After living in the center of Moscow during the 2012 presidential election, I thought I knew just about everything there was to know about Putin's election and his initial rise to power. I was amazed after reading Masha's brilliant reporting of just how much was going on behind the scenes. This scathing book doesn't pull any punches and anyone who follows current events should give it a read.

A delightfully controversial book, there is much here to chew on. Witty, thoughtful, and occasionally funny, Scruton's insight is both timely and timeless in a world where sometimes we just need to slow down and look.

A customer recommended this book to me, and I'm so glad. It's a beautiful book and a gift that's meant to be shared. By the end you'll feel centered and like you've made a new friend in Robin Wall Kimmerer and many new friends in your environment. It's also a wonderful reprieve from politics, no matter your stance.
