Man O' War is a beautiful, evocatively told coming-of-age story of a young person trying to reconcile their sexuality and gender identity in a world that often feels hostile. Your heart will ache for River at times, but you'll always be cheering them on. Truly unforgettable.

Elegantly unfolding, with a fun twist of alternative history, and a full cast of colorful characters. Maybe could be considered ecopunk, but I definitely consider it excellent.

I gave this book to my 70yo father as an intro to gender as a spectrum. He read it in less than 30min, nodded, and said "Makes sense." I can give no stronger endorsement. (It's only $6 with the discount!)

Kira-Kira is a beautiful ode to sisterhood. Children’s literature is not my usual genre of choice, but I fell into this story hard and ate it up as fast as I could turn the pages. As a younger sister myself, this read felt so necessary.
