You are brought along on every Christmas joy--along with some of the anxiety, anticipation, and excitement--with this seemingly simple repetition. Each page appears to stand on its own, but look closely and you'll be able to discern backstory and visual narrative from the fuzzy, soft, expressive illustrations that accompany. My new Christmas favorite.

The quintessential bed-time book about reading together with a child. Both bear and boy are preparing for sleep, and the mother and child turn the pages and share the experience. Absolutely charming.

This board book version of the 2 year- old Old Bear and His Cub showcases Dunrea’s art even better than the original. Somehow the mooth surfaces make it crisper and cleaner. This is a lovely book about the relationship between two caring creatures.
Carol
The brand new Little Cub is the prequel to Old Bear and His Cub and tells the story of how they met. Have tissues nearby. Lovely gifts for kids 3 and up.

Rock star of the children's book world Mo Willems breaks out of the mold once again with this silly, sarcastic, upside-down fairy tale retelling that is sure to please both the kids and the adults. Especially the fans of irony. And dinosaurs!

You will first be captivated by this book’s drawings, but it is the story that proves most charming. Born to the same litter, Boot and Shoe do everything together. Well, almost everything. Boot spends his day on the back porch, “because he’s a back porch kind of dog”, and Shoe spends his day on the front porch, “because he’s a front porch kind of dog”. Then a pesky neighbor squirrel stirs things up, they both give chase, and things change. This fun and touching tale of friendship will prove to be a favorite. One that will be read, and read, and read….

Bunheads’ striking cover pulled me into this book. Sophie Flack wrote this mesmerizing story from a first person view of the professional world of American Ballet having danced at the New York City Ballet for nine years. No one from the outside of this world has any idea the total commitment that is required to become a ballerina. For any young person or adult it is an awe inspiring story of dedication. As Hannah grows up in the school she begins to wonder if this is all she wants for her life.
