Ash and Thorn which is basically WHAT IF BUFFY WERE AN OLD LADY and I am HERE for it
Fireheart Tiger which is neat and gay and magic. One of the Tor novellas
Honey Girl which is, as Katherine promised, a delight already
Just started Bluets last night and it’s giving me Jenny Offill feels.
have started the third Deathstalker cuz space opera is my ultimate comfort food
I am obsessed w British scones and I’m hoping the British Baking Book will help me bake a 100 of them for myself
Current cookbook obsessions: Parwana is absolutely gorgeous and the recipes look attainable
“Souvankham Thammavongsa wins $100K Scotiabank Giller Prize for short story collection How to Pronounce Knife.” - I just learned about this book yesterday and most times, I avoid emotional Southeast Asian refugee stories bc it’s personally painful, but this book is beautiful. I vibe w the writing
I just started this bc Sarah told me to and it’s absolutely perfect!
Just started Nancy by Bruno Lloret. Surprise! It's weird!
I’ve just begun A Wild Ride Through the Night by Walter Moers. It’s weird and I love it! Inspired and accompanied by 21 Gustave Doré woodcuts, it is continually surprising and absurd. Dryyyyy humor, definitely recommended for folks who love Melville and Douglas Adams
And also am starting Wilder Girls. I couldn't stand the hype anymore. I also lived on a pretty deserted island for a year so this should be fun. Also quarantine. So yay!!
Reading Frankly in Love (FINALLY Sinny) and loving it so far.
Also finished first 2 books in The Agency series today. It's about a Chinese/Irish girl who goes undercover for a female run detective agency in 1800s London. Very fun. Also a slow burn romance.
Finished this last week (thank you Sarah and April for the rec!!). I really liked it. A little predictable but enjoyable.
